RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop a technical concept for the product to be developed based on the customer and internal requirements, together with the discipline architects
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of the solution including manufacturability in compliance with requirements and attainment of targets for costs, time schedule, risk and quality
  • Design decisions and architecture releases within a project based on standards, rules and guidelines
  • Ensure the compliance with legal and internal requirements (e.g. platform concept for embedded controller, standard components or similar) and customer standards
  • Coordinate the interfaces between software engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering development, focusing on potential conflicts and cross-discipline impacts between the individual solutions
  • Work with cross-functional (software, hardware, system, production, optics, quality, test and validation, FEA, etc.) teams to achieve desired product performance
  • File the system architecture-related documents in the configuration management system
  • Identify, analyze and document special characteristics
  • Analysis and coordination of requirements at product level with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Creation of product concepts taking into account the business requirements regarding costs, profitability, deadlines and quality.
  • Adherence to the planned deadlines and results of the work packages and tasks of one's own area of responsibility.
  • Coordination of product architecture with the manufacturability of the drafts concept.
  • Creation of development documentation considering functional analysis and decomposition
  • Technical support RFI / RFQs for HUDs as technical lead
  • Support packaging studies and integration of HUD products in cars for potential customers or exhibitions.
  • Project technical escalation: Coordination between ABH, GDL and BBU to get the expertise.
  • The fulfillment of the work task requires a high degree of communication, cooperation and coordination as well as ensuring the flow of information within the area of responsibility.
  • Internal and external customer care / contacts (e.g. prototyping).
  • Management and moderation of various system related topics.
  • Synchronization with the global product architecture team.
  • Synchronization with the departments for manufacturing technologies, display technology, materials, category purchasing.


REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Automotive Engineering or similar discipline
  • Knowledge of design and manufacturing of mechanical or Electric parts (diecast, plastic parts, PCBs)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience as a R&D engineer
  • Knowledge and practical application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work across multiple disciplines. (Optics Designers, Electronics, Systems)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Professional proficiency in English


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
  • Master's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering or similar discipline
  • Experience working in automotive
  • Specific components and technologies ECU, Optics and PCB development
  • Experience working with CATIA V5 or similar - ProE/Creo, Solidworks
  • Experience with optical concepts
