Job Summary

We are currently looking for a Linux programmer with Managed File Transmission (MFT) automation experience to join our team.

The Electronic Data Exchange group supports centralized Managed File Transmission support and automation for our customer's various business units. We support the MFT software, environment, and automation tools as well as partner with the business groups to develop and implement MFT solutions.

The Electronic Data Exchange (EDE) group is looking for a seasoned programmer with experience in file transmission processes and protocols. Our team develops and supports transmission automation on a variety of platforms so we are looking for someone with strong experience in Linux. We are a growing area that must adapt well to change. This person will work with other senior level Programmer Analysts supporting Linux/UNIX and, Windows. This is a critical role for an experienced programmer analyst who has diplomacy, excellent customer service and communication skills, and can handle the pressure of frequent direct interaction with external customers.

The team member must be able to meet with customers to gather the requirements of the transmission request. This often involves helping the customer understand what options are available to them. The team member is then involved in all aspects of the process - design solutions, code, test, troubleshoot, document, provide on-call support.

Responsibilities
  • Set up SFTP accounts and parameters along with shell and Perl programing routines to automate file transmissions.
  • Configure Connect:Direct and file agent scripts to facilitate automation scripts.
  • Work with various network, firewall and system administrators to establish TCP/IP connectivity and troubleshoot FTP connectivity issues
  • Assist and mentor others on the team and follow established methodology procedures
  • Provides 24x7 support for the transmission processes in addition to on- call rotations
  • Work scheduled weekend and night hours for supporting maintenance window installations and testing
  • Oversee the daily operations of infrastructure systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Manage and maintain Linux servers including RHEL SLES and OEL to support various applications and services.
  • Implement and manage GCP solutions to enhance cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Utilize webMethods.io B2B and MFT to facilitate secure and efficient data exchanges between business partners.
  • Administer IBM Sterling and GoAnywhere MFT solutions to ensure secure file transfers and data integrity.
  • Configure and manage IBM Sterling File Gateway to streamline data flow and improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain shell scripts and Perl scripts to automate routine tasks and improve system performance.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and ensure continuous availability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement infrastructure solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members to resolve complex infrastructure issues.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data and maintain system integrity.
  • Conduct regular system audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve infrastructure operations.

Qualifications
  • 7+ years experience with Unix/Linux application support and programming (Bash shell/Korn shell, Perl)
  • 7+ years experience with the following FTP protocols - SFTP/SSH, FTPS/SSL, HTTP/s and PGP/GPG
  • 5+ years experience working with TCPIP connectivity setups and troubleshooting, Managed File Transfer (MFT
  • Possess strong experience in Delivery Management to oversee project timelines and deliverables.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Linux Administration including RHEL SLES and OEL to manage server environments.
  • Have hands-on experience with GCP to implement and manage cloud solutions.
  • Show proficiency in webMethods.io B2B and MFT for secure data exchanges.
  • Be skilled in administering IBM Sterling and GoAnywhere MFT solutions.
  • Have experience with IBM Sterling File Gateway for efficient data flow management.

Salary and Other Compensation:

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
