We are on the lookout for a Senior Automation Engineer to join our team in an advanced cloud project. This role is integral to implementing a state-of-the-art hyperconverged, multitenant private cloud hosting environment. The project leverages the full suite of VMware products (ESXi, vSAN, NSX, vCloud Foundations, ARIA Automation, Tanzu) to create a sophisticated Software Defined Data Center (SDDC).

Job Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain a robust automation framework using Hashicorp Terraform and Vault, Red Hat Ansible Tower, and GitLab Ultimate.

- Design, deploy, and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipelines and automated configuration management.

- Collaborate with clients to provision customized solutions using the automation framework.

- Ensure the security and efficiency of automation tools, adhering to commercial best practices and government cybersecurity controls.

- Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis for automation-related issues.

- Provide on-call support for after-hours production incidents.

- Recommend enhancements for security, scalability, manageability, and performance across various technologies.

- Champion automation concepts and processes, improving overall organizational efficiency.

- Conduct gap analyses of IT environments, providing automation recommendations.

Required Skills:

- Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570.01-M IA Tech Level II certification.

- Automation or DevOps industry certification (required within 6 months of hire).

- Senior-level expertise in Terraform, Vault, Ansible Tower, and GitLab.

- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) environments, including automated network configurations, server deployments, and software provisioning.

- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Effective troubleshooting skills across automation frameworks.

- Familiarity with DoD STIGs and IA Vulnerability Management (IAVM) is preferred.
