Hiring Range: $90,000-$105,000 annually/plus full State Benefit Package

Location: Onsite at the State Capitol, Bismarck. This position may be eligible to apply for part-time telecommuting after successfully completing the probationary period.

Summary of Work

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction (NDDPI) team as a Systems Integration Specialist. In this role, you will be a key contributor to agency-wide strategic data initiatives. This includes leading a new data modernization initiative and the implementation and transition to an updated North Dakota K-12 student information and state reporting system. You will play a crucial role in providing project management expertise while bridging the gap between technical requirements and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management : Lead the implementation of high-impact initiatives to achieve strategic goals related to data systems and services. Lead the development and execution of project plans to include monitoring and reporting progress to the NDDPI Executive Leadership team.

Technical Expertise : Bring a deep understanding of information technology and data systems to the role. Collaborate with NDDPI programmers, technical staff, and other state partners to align project goals with technical requirements and capabilities.

Strategic Collaboration : Work closely with the NDDPI Management Information Systems team to assist with setting the agency's strategic data direction. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and agency partners to identify opportunities for leveraging technology to enhance operations and services.

Vendor Management : Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to assess new technology solutions and oversee the implementation process. Ensure that vendor relationships are managed effectively to meet the agency's needs.

Relationship Building : Develop and maintain strong relationships with agency partners, stakeholders, and local school districts. Serve as a liaison between NDDPI and other departments to ensure alignment of technology initiatives with organizational goals.

Continuous Improvement : Manage the ongoing evaluation and improvement of data systems and customer service processes. Identify areas for enhancement and implement strategies to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Management, or related field with five years of experience in a lead information technology or data management role.

-Strong technical background with knowledge of IT systems, networks, and infrastructure.

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

-Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results in a fast-paced environment.

-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.

Preferred Qualifications

-Proven experience in project management, preferably in IT implementation or system integration projects.

-Experience in vendor relationship management.
