Job Summary
Under general supervision of management of the Bureau of Technology responsible for management, maintenance, and upgrade of all user systems including OS; virus scanning; patches/updates; asset tracking; imaging; software packaging; reporting; licensing; and system lifecycle. Maintains an inventory of all systems, software, licensing, deployments, and ownership. Builds system images compatible with disparate hardware vendors. Tests application compatibility against existing hardware and software/OS. Assists with leading and facilitating groups across all levels of the organization to deliver valued outcomes to drive business decisions. Performs other related assignments and duties as directed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's Degree is required.
  • Five (5) years' experience with Microsoft Windows XP/7 Professional in an enterprise SUPPLEMENTED WITH current certification in any of the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): System Center 2012 family; OR Seven (7) years' work experience managing Windows workstations is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows 2008 Server and Windows Server Update Services is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows 7 Professional, deployment and administration is required.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policies, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP is required.
  • Must be able to work on-call 24/7 including weekends and holidays as assigned is required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS

  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Systems Center 2012 Server family: Configuration Manager, Operations Manager, Virtual Machine Manager, Data Protection Manager, Endpoint Protection, Service Manager, App Controller, Orchestrator.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2008 Server; Windows Server Update Services; Microsoft Windows 7 Professional; and deployment/administration.
  • Thorough knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policies, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Hyper-V Server and/or VMWare.
  • Experience with hosted/cloud solutions and SaaS.
  • Skill in problem-solving with strong attention to detail with ability to multitask and determine root causes.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to react diplomatically and patiently to internal and external customers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with the ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures.
  • Ability to adhere to department policies and standards and respond to phone calls, emails and customer requests.
  • Ability to lift, pull, push, squat with equipment/boxes weighing 30-50 lbs.
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and organize tasks based upon user requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects utilizing best practices based on departmental priorities.
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision in stressful situations and meet deadlines.
