What You'll Do :

THIS POSITION IS ENTITLED TO A EXTRA 20% SUPPLEMENT PAY .

This position assesses the educational needs of inmates. Works under general direction and requires considerable knowledge of teacher education:

• Provides instruction in ScienceT
• Assesses educational needs of inmates
• Develops lesson plans to address those needs to include individual assignments and training
• Provides instruction and individual assistance
• Administers, scores and interprets examinations and proficiency indicators
• Maintains discipline and/or security
• Counsels students concerning their performance, behavior and/or personal problems
• Attends meetings as required
• Prepares required records and re-ports (e.g., enrollment, grades, student progress)
• Inventories and orders supplies and materials needed
• Researches, selects and recommends new teaching materials
• Attends in-service training sessions and workshops for professional development performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Current Teacher Certificate appropriate for science & grade level to be assigned; Teacher 4, 71284, must also have master's degree & 30 hrs. of post-graduate study.
