Description
The Teacher Assistant is responsible for:
• Providing classroom and resource room assistance and instruction to students under the direction of a certified teacher
• Coordinates and monitors the academic assignments of students
• Documents assignments
• Provides instruction to targeted students
• Modifies and adapts instructions for special needs students
• Summarizes data and maintains attendance and progress reports
• Prepares instructional and testing materials
• Supervises students during lunch and recess
• Communicates student progress with teachers
• Assists with hygiene activities
• Assists teachers in preparing lesson plans and materials
• Serve as Bus Monitors as scheduled
• Attend Professional Development activities and school and district meetings as required
• Other Duties as assigned
Reports to the School Principal nature and level as assigned

Requirements
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Associate Degree or Proof of passing PRAXIS Paraprofessional Assessment
• IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate
• Basic math, reading, and writing skills
• Ability to lift 25 pounds
