Summary

Under the supervision of the principal, or other supervisor, the teacher assistant assists the teacher with the conduct of a class. The assistance takes a variety of forms, such as preparing class materials, correcting and recording assignments, and a wide variety of other services.

3.9 hours per day/174 days per year /Salary Grade 3 $15.95 per hour (2024-25 Support Salary Table)

(Promotions result in a minimum 5% increase for a promotion)

NOTE: PERFORMING ARTS TEACHER ASSISTANT AND STAGE MANAGER: THIS POSITION WILL WORK WITH TEACHERS IN THE PERFOMRING ARTS DEPARTMENT TO PROVIDE TECHNICAL, SOUND, AND LIGHTING SUPPORT FOR ALL SCHOOL EVENTS AND RENTALS AT THE SCHOOL. THIS POSTION IS FOR 3.9 HOURS A DAY. THIS POSITION WILL INCLUDE GUIDING STUDENT STAGE CREWS. MOST HOURS WILL BE AFTER SCHOOL AND IN THE EVENINGS.

EXPERIENCE WITH SOUNDBOARD AND LIGHTING FOR PRODUCTIONS REQUIRED

The assistance takes a variety of forms, such as preparing class materials, correcting and recording assignments, and a wide variety of other services.

QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:

1. High school graduation or equivalent education and/or experience.

2. The equivalent of two years (48 semester hours) full-time education at an institution of higher education; or an associate's degree; or the ability to pass a Utah State Office of Education approved Para-Professional Test.

3. Interpersonal and communication skills.

4. Secretarial/clerical skills, including ability to operate a computer may be required.
