Adheres to NM PreK Program Standards to provide a high quality PreK learning experience for four-year-olds and family engagement activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Incumbent must achieve the following outcomes with or without reasonable accomodation: Develops and regularly modifies classroom learning environment to meet the developmental needs of young children for engaged learning opportunities. Creates and implements an integrated curriculum that addresses the learning needs of four-year-olds across all developmental domains (Social/Emotional, Language, Motor, Cognition). Implements state required documents and processes for home visits, student portfolio assessment documentation and data reporting, lesson plans, and family-teacher conference summary sheet. Conducts developmental screening on all PreK children and provides parent education on the developmental milestones of young children. Plans and implements activities with parents to strengthen their role in their child's education. Establishes communication with early chilhood community-based programs, other early childhood district-based programs and with kindergarten teachers. Exhibits strong organizational skills in keeping student data and anecdotal records on students' learning progress. Participates in mandatory NM PreK professional development opportunities and District early childhood professional development events. Articulates the NM PreK program philosophies, procedures and early learning outcomes as necessary.

Requires: Current New Mexico teaching certificate in early childhood, Birth - 3rd grade .
