TEACHER, SHORT TERM SUBSTITUTE

LOCATION: Specific schools and all grade levels across Denver Public Schools

HOURS: Monday-Friday, full and half day assignments may be available

SALARY RANGE: $21.60 or $27.00 per hour (depending on qualifications)

About this job:

Provides instruction and carries out a teacher's lesson as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned by the school Principal.

All Guest Teachers are requested to work a minimum of five (5) assignments a month.

What You'll Do:
  • Provides instruction and carries out a teacher's lesson plan in classrooms as assigned
  • Organizes students for effective instruction and learning while maintaining classroom control that fosters a safe and positive environment for all students
  • Motivates student learning and academic participation while ensuring the integrity of academic time



What You'll Need:
  • Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a current 1, 3, or 5-year Substitute Authorization or a teacher license issued by the Colorado Department of Education (CDE); dated receipt from CDE indicating application for authorization or license will be accepted
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
  • Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position .
