Team Lead Position Summary:

The Team Lead is responsible for training, leading, and motivating team members. The Team Lead will be responsible for assisting management by serving in the "lead" role and functioning as a group/team mentor and resource liaison. Duties include ensuring accurate patient demographic and financial information is obtained and verified by all registrars. The Team Lead ensures that all registrars utilize electronic insurance verification systems available, assisting with the precertification and referral/authorizations, and assessing patient financial liability. The Team Lead must be highly proficient with insurance and verification/benefits and eligibility procedures.

Team Lead Key Accountabilities:
  • Functions in a clinic front desk lead role, coordinates daily assignments, manages workflow, and provides training assistance for other front desk staff members.
  • Ensures all clerical duties, including pre-registration for the following day, cash collection, preparation for the following day, faxing, etc, are completed by the end of the shift.
  • Obtains appropriate billing and consent documents, i.e., copies of insurance card(s), patient ID, referral, signed ABN form, and other pertinent consent forms, etc.
  • Completes annual organization-wide safety and infection control updates.
  • Treats customers (guests, patients, physicians and other employees) with courtesy, respect and caring behaviors.
  • Presents a positive image of JHBMC through professional appearance and behavior.
  • Reviews, understands and abides by the policies and procedures of JHBMC.
  • Works cooperatively within own unit/department and with other units and departments.
  • Consistently ensures that information known about the customer is kept private and confidential.

Work Schedule: Day shift, FT, 40 hrs/wk

Team Lead Qualifications:
  • High school level of educational development and two years of previous experience.
  • Analytical skills to gather and interpret data in situations in which the information or problems are relatively routine.
  • Ability to exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointments, greet visitors, explain medical center policies, and/or relay messages to appropriate personnel. This type of interaction requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitors and/or medical center employees. More sensitive situations may be referred to others as appropriate.
