SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: To conduct independent and directed scientific studies and research in support of a Principal Investigators research
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Equipment Operation
Expected to operate pressure washer and industrial cage washers, perform and document functions performed in the appropriate log, and clean and maintain all cages, automatic water lines, and other related equipment.
• Supplies and Equipment
Delivers clean and/or dirty equipment and cages to and from cage wash as required; Maintains efficient organization & flow of supplies & equipment through cage wash area.
• Cage Wash
Cleans & sterilizes cages, equipment, supplies, rooms (primary and secondary enclosures), etc; Prepares refuse for disposal or incineration.
• Housekeeping
Completes daily and periodic housekeeping of assigned areas which includes some bathrooms, locker rooms and surgery space within DVS; Restocks and maintains appropriate inventory levels of housekeeping and bathroom supplies; Removes dirty scrubs from receptacles and ensures adequate supply of clean scrubs.
• Safety
Monitors first aid kits, eye wash stations and functioning emergency exit on cage wash equipment; Monitors & maintains washers & sterilizers in proper working condition.
Physical Requirements - Must have ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand the duration of shift, and perform repetitive physical activities such as: pushing and pulling wheeled racks and carts, utilize a ladder or step stool, lift above shoulder level, reaching, stooping, and bending.
