Apexhas an immediate opportunity for an Technical Document Specialist at a global specialty materials client in the King of Prussia area. The ideal candidate will have a BS in Life Sciences or Engineeringwith a desire to support the R&D team in an administrative capacity. Strong MS Office and communication skills are needed. This position requires you to be on-site for ~2 days/week.
GENERAL FUNCTION
The composition, compliance and performance requirements of the products manufactured by the client are defined in internal documents called "internal specifications". Those internal specifications are key documents for all their teams, from R&D to plant operators. However, many of those internal specifications need to be updated. So, the client is looking for a driven, talented, and energetic research and development assistant to join their team to support their project to update all those internal specifications. The chosen candidate is expected to work in collaboration with our plants, product management, R&D and purchasing teams

Responsibilities:
- Gather technical data from different sources (colleagues, technical documents, etc.)
- Ensuring the accuracy of the raw material specification is critical for production.
- Summarizing data, writing an updated raw material specification, and securing approvals
- High School Diploma with 5 plus years of technical writing experience, associate degree with 2 plus years of technical writing experience, OR BS in any scientific/technical field (chemistry, material science, etc.)
- Ability to interpret technical documentation
- Clear, rigorous technical writing
- Fluent with Office, particularly Word and Excel
- Ability to write/understand very simple scripts in Python preferred
