The Project Manager on the Battery Pack Design Engineering team will help drive the Semi truck pack programs from concept to high volume production. The role requires a highly organized mind set, a passion to launch new technologies and an unparalleled ability to pull people together to make things happen. Our designs and schedules push the limits of physical possibility, which requires you to be extremely detail oriented and drive the design and cross functional teams to execute quickly at high quality. You will drive collaboration with many engineering groups, and ensure our team is aligned with company priorities. Tesla moves quickly, so being self-motivated and disciplined is critical. You must be passionate, but direction changes frequently, so you must also be resilient.

Responsibilities
  • Accountable for creating, maintaining & communicating schedules & plans for battery projects
  • Drive action with internal & cross functional teams to successfully complete projects within time & resource constraints Identify creative & timely solutions to key program challenges
  • Track project progress & report effectively on status, blockers & changes
  • Develop & maintain effective communication channels to all stakeholders
  • Track resourcing of projects & drive resource balancing between different program priorities
  • Support tracking & execution of design validation testing
  • Identify team priorities & motivate the project team to complete critical tasks
  • Develop systems & best practices for communication & change management
  • Own product BOM accuracy & communication of changes between design, supply chain, PMI & material planning
  • Complete appropriate documentation & ensure accuracy of data across Tesla systems (Enovia, MES, WARP, Polarion)


Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience & evidence of exceptional ability
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written
  • Experience creating reports, analyses or reporting tools for management
  • Experience in managing or launching hardware products
  • Understanding of the design cycle & design problem solving processes
  • Ability to work cross-functionally & manage large teams
  • Detail oriented with strong record-keeping & organizational skills
  • Good overall computer skills, including Microsoft Office & e-mail programs
  • A desire to increase the effectiveness of your teammates
