You will be responsible for defining strategy, requirements and timelines across AWS Startup Engineering Teams. You will manage our cross-functional projects which require working with all organizational levels and groups including finance, marketing, operations, etc.

You will develop and manage project schedules while identifying and mitigating risks. You will define solutions to problems and facilitate conflict resolution through the full project cycle helping the product and engineering teams to execute on roadmaps.

A strong background in computer science is essential for your success in this position. You must have a proven track record of project completion that is on time and within scope. You must be able to command the intellectual respect of engineers as well as run extremely effective projects on compressed timelines while dealing with ambiguity with grace and maturity. The ideal candidate is creative with superior analytical abilities.

Key job responsibilities

- Manage multiple competing cross-functional projects/programs simultaneously

- Interact with engineers, product managers, project managers and senior management on a daily basis

- Run meetings, create and maintain timelines, and keep large, diverse groups informed of progress and obstacles

- Work with engineers to develop detail and creative solutions to complex problems, while keeping a watchful eye on timelines and scope.

- Provide timely updates on project status to leadership and track progress of milestones.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of technical product or program management experience

- 2+ years of software development experience

- 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
