Amazon internships are full-time positions, and interns should expect to work Monday-Friday, up to 40 hours per week typically between 8am-5pm. Specific team norms around working hours will be communicated by your manager. Interns should not have conflicts such as classes or other employment during the Amazon work-day.

Applicants should have a minimum of one quarter/semester/trimester remaining in their studies after their internship concludes. You will be able to provide your preference of location and start date during the application process but, we cannot guarantee that we can meet your selection based on several factors including but not limited to the availability and business needs of this role. TPM interns apply project management best practices to make the team you work with more efficient. You will be responsible for driving projects from initiation through delivery, collaborating with many different teams to complete a whole product. As a TPM intern, you know how to apply technology to solve problem and take the time to fully learn the products and systems involved with your projects.

Key job responsibilities

As a Technical Program Manager intern, you may:

• \tCollaborate and partner with business teams to define and solve problems that impact customers.

• \tDefine project requirements and work to clarify the technical implementation by driving design discussions

• \tIdentify predictors and causes of business related problems and implement novel approaches related to forecasting and prediction.

• \tIdentify, develop, manage, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations.

• \tBuild relationships, identify stakeholders, and influence other teams across organizations and external teams.

• \tDefine analytical approaches to uncover new insights and formulate recommendations that improve processes.

• \tInfluence technology at the component level.

• \tInterface with engineering disciplines to deliver project requirements

A day in the life

Our internship program provides hands-on learning and building experiences for students who are interested in a career in industrial design engineering. In addition to working on an impactful project, you will have the opportunity to engage with Amazonians for both personal and professional development, expand your network, and participate in fun activities with other interns throughout the summer. No matter the location of your internship, we give you the tools to own your internship and learn in a real-world setting.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• \tCurrently working towards a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with an expected conferral date October 2025 - December 2028.

• \tPrevious program or project management experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• \tUnderstands the industry technologies in program or product domain (e.g., hardware, network, software, systems) and how to apply those technologies to solve problems

• \tAble to dive deeply into technical details (e.g., key dependencies, design choices, operability, etc.) and drive constructive discussions with engineers.

• \tStrong technical, problem-solving and communication skills

• \tProblem-solving mind-set, proactive issue resolution skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

• \tCan transform raw thoughts into clear technical documentation and/or direction.

• \tKnows how to collect data (e.g., from log files, data stores, SQL, potentially via API, etc.)

• \tUnderstands a broad range of techniques for conducting technical analysis and know when to use them.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $41.25/hr in our lowest geographic market up to $88.94/hr in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
