Your Role

Mission:

To facilitate growth of Power Technique's Aftermarket and support the capital equipment sales through a strong commitment to the delivery of high-quality technical support to all Power Technique customers.

This position is responsible for the technical support on the assigned Power Technique Service's product line (for example, portable generators, light towers, portable air compressors, hand-held tools, and/or pumps). Support will primarily be provided for the assigned product line, but may also include support for our other core products. There will be a dedication to continual product improvement by communicating through our distribution network, internal personnel, and the Product Companies.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Technical support specialist for assigned product lines.
  • Offer timely technical service support to our customers and internal customer service group via phone, e-mail, etc.
  • Provide onsite troubleshooting, as needed.
  • Communicate with factory engineering as well as local vendors to resolve quality issues, and to seek retribution of warrantable issues from both the product companies as well as local vendors.
  • Develop and provide technical service training for customer center service teams and distributors.
  • Provide a high level of customer service.
  • Develop rapport with customers through effective communication, interpersonal skills, and professionalism.
  • Train and assist other technical support personnel and service technicians.
  • Provide technical support during evening and weekend hours on a rotating "on call" schedule.
  • Communicate all relevant product, technical service and training activities and work together to sustain the product integrity.
  • Prepare necessary information as requested whether routine or for special occasions.
  • Participate in company planned training as required.
  • Work to understand and utilize information and communication systems and tools, i.e. e-mail, SAP, BPCS, Microsoft Office software, etc.
  • Act on behalf of peer group members in their absence as and when called upon to do so either by design or circumstance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

To succeed, you will need

Experience:
  • Two to three years technical field or shop service experience maintaining and repairing power equipment (Atlas Copco and other) or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the maintenance, overhaul, and repair of a wide variety of products within the assigned product line.
  • Two years of progressive work experience in a related industry.

Certifications/Licenses:
  • Maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Maintain current Safety & Health Administration required training certificates.

Education:

A High School diploma or GED is required.

Skills:

Knowledge:
  • Advanced knowledge of the products within your assigned product line, as well as working knowledge of other product lines supported by the Company.
  • Competence with high and low voltage electrical control systems is required.
  • Knowledge of construction equipment repair and maintenance.

Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
  • A basic level of understanding and competence with computers and associated systems (Microsoft Office, SAP, etc.), business systems, distribution channels and accounting practices.
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus.
  • Willingness to grow within the business.

Travel:

This position requires a modest level of travel within the United States and internationally, up to 50%.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibility.
