Description

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Technical Writer/Editor to work in our Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) Document Management department. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our ATR facility with every Friday off.

You will research, write, and oversee in-depth editing of scientific and technical reports, proposals, procedures, specifications, and manuals for programs in multiple disciplines, using input from engineers, scientists, operators, or working with originators to create new text and graphics. You will report directly to the Manager of the ATR Document Management department.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Analyze documentation requirements for major projects and programs.
  • Define scope and coordinate with technical management and staff to determine depth and detail of documentation work.
  • Develop writing and editing solutions for a variety of complex technical documents.
  • Represent the organization within other departments to resolve issues associated with writing/editing.
  • Oversee preparation and production writing projects while working with facility personnel, text processors, graphic artists, and printers to ensure professional quality and adherence to budgets and schedules.
  • Follow requirements established in all procedures and standards that relate to the creation and modification of company documentation.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.


Job Information:

  • Salary Grades: PR0200 - 180 ($64,272 - $102,840) / PR0300 - 190 ($72,528 - $119,652)

  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
  • Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.
