Description

Under general supervision, perform scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC

equipment and control systems for all District campuses and facilities.

  • Perform work to ensure completion within allotted time limits and for high quality standards; adjust work methods and procedures to meet District schedules.
  • Perform preventive maintenance functions, emergency repairs, and final repairs on all HVAC equipment as required.
  • Inspect mechanical rooms for operation logs, leaks and malfunctioning equipment, and operations.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, maintain, and service all systems while performing preventive maintenance on HVAC related equipment.
  • Follow preventive maintenance schedules on HVAC equipment and controls systems including, but not limited to, motors, cooling towers, air handlers, tab units, DX units, condenser pumps, and A/C split system.
  • Coordinate with various maintenance employees in responding to concerns at campus sites and resolve routine work related problems.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment and vehicles. Inform supervisor, immediately, of any known problems and provide documentation during inspection and/or inventory of tools, equipment and vehicle, as required.
  • Maintain accurate records for labor, materials, work order completion, project orders, manufactures technical data sheets, material safety data sheets, and other Maintenance records.
  • Employee may be required to respond to after hour/emergency callouts, be placed

    on an emergency call out rotation, and flex work hours to accommodate job completions.
  • Comply with District policies and procedures.


Qualifications

  • Accredited High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. Equivalency).
  • Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Universal Certification preferred.
  • HVAC trade school certification preferred.
  • 2 plus years in direct experience preferred.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License and a record that meets the District's standard.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of preventive maintenance, inspection and minor repair of HVAC

    equipment, maintaining equipment in excellent operation, and energy management systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the technical crafts utilized within and outside the HVAC function.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the demands of the position including but not limited to working

    under tight deadlines to successfully complete work assignments.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces; frequently use a ladder, and climb and/or balance at a height up to 30 feet.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
