Job Description

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated Technologist to join the Security Engineering team at the Nuclear Power Training Unit (NPTU) site. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing oversight of engineered Navy physical security systems (e.g., access control, alarms, video, barrier devices) at the NPTU Charleston site to ensure they are operational, properly maintained, and that high priority system issues are expeditiously addressed, should they arise. You will also be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of NNL physical security systems at NPTU Charleston. In addition, you will be expected to obtain the Work Control Officer (WCO) and electrical safety qualifications to ensure compliance with applicable health and safety requirements in the accomplishment of work associated with both Navy and NNL physical security systems.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

  • High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or
  • Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a technical, engineering or science related field and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a technical, engineering or science related field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Pay Range

$76,400.00 - $117,000.00 annually

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
