    • CUERO REGIONAL HOSPITAL IS SEARCHING FOR A PRN HIM TECH/OUTPATIENT CODER IN OUR HIM DEPARTMENT
    • The Medical Records Tech/Outpatient Coder will be responsible for all clerical and outpatient coding functions.
    • He/She is responsible for gathering all charts from floors daily.
    • They will code all records associated with outpatient ancillary services, clinical lab, Ambulatory Care, and Physical Therapy.
    • The employee is expected to be proficient in ICD-10 and CPT coding.
    • They are responsible for abstracting all data into the Meditech system and using 3M software to code.
    • They are responsible for analyzing charts and flagging for deficiencies and assigning to physicians for completion.
    • They are Responsible for obtaining appropriate consents for the proper release of medical information.
    • Assists with mail, walk in and fax requests for records.
    • Answers multi line telephone in prompt and courteous manner.
    • Greets and assists employees from other departments in locating records.
    • Acts as back up birth registrar when needed, and obtains annual education for compliance.
    • Assists with scanning and portal phone calls when needed. Able to multitask and meet productivity standards.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Associates Degree or LVN with coding certification required
    • RHIT, RHIA, RN OR LVN WITH CCS preferred
    • Two year in hospital or clinic setting required
    • Proficient Computer and Typing Skills
    • Positive, Compassionate and Customer Service Oriented
    • Able to Multi-Task
