Please no phone calls or emails. The projected end date for this temporary assignment is December 21, 2024. Please note: As an added perk, we may be able to provide tickets to that week's football game for those assisting with barricades. The selected candidate must have a current/valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record.

Purpose

To assist in the set-up, monitoring, and take-down of vehicle barricades around the football stadium to ensure the safety of UT fans during home football games.

Responsibilities
  • Workers will be setting up vehicle barricades the Friday morning before home football games outside of DKR football stadium. This will require lifting large metal components (~50 pounds) in and out of a trailer, as well as being able to bend and stoop to assemble the barricades on the ground. They will need to be able to operate the truck and trailer the barricades are stored in to properly deploy them (training will be provided). Once barricades are set up on Friday, workers may depart. Workers will then arrive 1 hour before the opening of "Bevo Boulevard" (set times will be provided in advance) to put the barricades into place.
  • Monitor them and move them as necessary (a schedule for barricade movement will be provided in advance), and then to dismantle the barricades and put them back in their trailer once the football game has started. Once teardown is complete, workers will park the truck and trailer at a determined location and will be finished with their duties. Food and water will be provided for barricade monitors.
