The Transportation and Public Works ( TPW ) Office of Performance Management ( OPM ) is seeking 1-2 temporary Business Process Specialists or a Business Process Consultants to support a range of strategic planning, innovation, performance measurement, and data analysis initiatives. The ideal candidate is positive, energetic, inspirational, and a role-model who quickly connects with people, earns trust, ignites curiosity, and delivers value within a short period of time. This candidate will have demonstrated experience and proficiency in communication, facilitation, project management, design, and analysis.
Travel:
If you are selected for this position, and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.

Assists in planning, executing and closing projects in a variety of operational and/or administrative situations related to specific assignments/areas. Develops and maintains databases to support data analysis and research findings for business projects. Assists in preparation of recommendations for implementation of new or revised policies, procedures, and/or process changes/improvements. Write reports that summarize findings, data collection techniques, implementation options, etc. Establishes project schedules using project planning software/tools, updates and maintains project status reports. Communicate project/process status. Conduct research, analyze trends, determine accuracy and relevancy of data/information, and use sounds judgment to evaluate alternatives. Facilitates and documents meetings, action items, and processes using flowcharting methodologies. Maintains positive working relationships with managers, supervisors, employees and other stakeholders to gain their cooperation and support.

Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
- Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a field related to the job, plus one (1) year experience related to the job.
- Experience may be substituted for education up to a maximum of four (4) years.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in performance measurement, analysis, and reporting using dashboards, visualizations, or other user-defined queries.
- Experience executing innovation / continuous improvement initiatives involving a diverse range of stakeholders (i.e., executives, management, staff).
- Experience designing and facilitating effective meetings and/or workshops involving diverse stakeholders.
- Experience establishing project schedules using project planning software/tools, as well as updating, maintaining, and communicating project status.
- Experience designing and creating modern, attractive, easy-to-understand presentations, reports, and/or other communication tools.
- Experience working with and building trusting relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders (i.e., executives, management, staff).
- Experience with the Microsoft 365 suite, including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Ability to travel to more than one work location

- Ability to work independently and with teams
