Job Title: Temporary Human Resources Specialist Aide

This is a Temporary position limited to no more than 9-months.

Job Summary:

The Human Resources Specialist Temporary Aide will assist Facilities Management with onboarding and offboarding. This includes department-wide notifications, data entry, and document management. In addition, the role will assist with I-9 verifications, invoice processing, and payroll audits.

Job duties:

  • Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks including data, entry auditing and document management.
  • Assist with new hire onboarding, including new hire paperwork, scheduling and documentation of drug screening, background check requests, badge requests, department notifications, parking, and new employee orientation enrollment.
  • Support HR team members with special projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Review, update and submit job descriptions in HRIS.
  • Monthly updates to organizational chart and distribution.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to HR policies and procedures.
  • Offboarding tasks such as department notifications, HRIS actions, and leave payout calculations and submissions.
  • Processing invoices for retirement gifts and drug/alcohol screening.
  • I-9 Verifications
  • Assist in auditing monthly and bi-weekly payroll for accuracy.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.


Full-time position, Monday-Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm

May involve occasional lifting of equipment and materials (up to 25 lbs.)

Work Location:

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

  • A bachelor's degree in human resources, public administration, public policy, business, higher education administration, social sciences, behavioral sciences, or a directly related field from an accredited institution
  • 1 year of professional-level experience functioning as the liaison for all aspects of the hiring and new employee readiness process.


Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in payroll or human resources within higher education is a plus.
  • Exposure to working with a variety of different HR systems, including PeopleSoft HCM and Kronos or other timekeeping systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with HR software is advantageous.
  • Experience with Colorado State personnel laws, rules, regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Experience with position management of University Staff and Classified (State) staff.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The hiring range for this position has been established at: $22.00 to $25.00/ hour. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
