Temporary (1 year) part-time Researcher 5

The School of Public Health division of Biostatistics and Health Data Science (BHDS) is seeking applications for a temporary (1 year) part-time (75% appointment, 30 hours per week) Biostatistician (9742R5 Researcher 5) to work with Dr. Sandra Safo and collaborators focusing on multiomics research with applications to HIV, Sepsis, Alzheimer's disease, and other chronic diseases, and software development. Starting Salary Range: $60,000 - $63,750 annually at 75% ($80,000-$85,000 annually at 100%), dependent upon the selected candidate's relevant qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

In collaboration with investigators in the Division of Biostatistics and Health Data Science and the Medical School at the University of Minnesota, responsibilities include:

• Data analysis and dissemination (60%): conducting multiomics analyses for investigators typically using novel machine and statistical learning methods, methods for correlated data, and causal inference; drafting results, tables, and figures for peer-reviewed manuscripts and presentations
• Data management (20%): cleaning and manipulation using R and/or Python; preparation of study datasets for data analysis
• Software Development (20%): Converting existing codes into R-packages and developing Shiny applications/online dashboards and other forms of disseminations.

• Demonstrated competence using R and Python for data analysis

About the Department

The Division of Biostatistics and Health Data Science includes approximately 90 faculty and staff. The Division is active in a wide range of collaborative research projects including high-profile studies of cancer, cardiovascular disease, COVID-19, dentistry and periodontology, psychiatry/psychology, transplantation, chronic and neurodegenerative diseases, and tobacco control. The Division's Coordinating Center for Biometric Research (CCBR) is considered a field leader in infectious disease clinical trial coordination and has been instrumental in designing and executing seminal vaccine and treatment trials in HIV/AIDS, Ebola, influenza, and COVID-19.
