Title: Temporary - Reconnect Navigator, Southeast Campus

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for supporting and tracking students as part of the Reconnect grant.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide navigation support, connection to resources, and wraparound services to students. Track and monitor progress of Reconnect students utilizing Nashville State and Chamber of Commerce software. Provide bridge between Chamber of Commerce and Nashville State staff to provide seamless connections and customer service to Reconnectors and other adult students.

Manage Clean Slate debt-forgiveness program in partnership with Nashville State staff and Nashville State Community College Foundation staff. Lead Reconnect Ambassador trainings for employers and community partners. Plan and implement Reconnect to Career events. Participate in outreach events as needed to share information with Tennessee Reconnect including events at non-profits organizations, schools, and community centers. Participate in Welcome to the Nest and first year experience activities. Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

Two years' experience working in a higher education or similar setting delivering direct service to a body of diverse students or clients.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree from an accredited institution

Prior work experience at a community college

Prior academic advising or student success coaching experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to manage a caseload system of advising. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information. Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage competing tasks and priorities while maintaining complete and accurate records. Proficient Microsoft Office and database management skills. Ability to build effective working relationship at all levels across the organization. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

Rate of Pay: $28.40 per hour
