Description
We are seeking a Tenable Security Specialist with proficiency in Python scripting to join our team within the Enterprise Security Services (ESS) division, focusing on the NOAA Cyber Security Center contract. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge and expertise in Tenable products, particularly Tenable Security Center, Nessus, Agents, and Nessus Manager, along with a strong background in Python scripting. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our infrastructure through the effective deployment, management, and optimization of Tenable solutions, leveraging Python for automation and workflow enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert guidance and support at both the enterprise and local level on all aspects of Tenable products.
  • Conduct network scanning and implement best practices for vulnerability assessment.
  • Implement and manage agent scanning protocols, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Configure and maintain Universal Repositories to streamline vulnerability management processes.
  • Perform CSEL auditing to identify and address security vulnerabilities effectively.
  • Lead vulnerability remediation efforts, collaborating with cross-functional teams to mitigate risks promptly.
  • Manage the upgrading and patching of Tenable products to ensure system integrity and compliance.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with Tenable vendors, addressing product deficiencies and anomalies promptly.
  • Conduct compliance scanning and provide comprehensive guidance on regulatory requirements to the enterprise.
  • Manage user accounts, groups, and agent host groups within Tenable environments efficiently.

Qualifications:
  • Experience with Python scripting for automation and workflow enhancement.
  • In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with Tenable Security Center, Nessus, Agents, and Nessus Manager.
  • Proficiency in network scanning methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience with agent scanning deployment and management.
  • Strong familiarity with Universal Repositories and CSEL auditing.
  • Demonstrated ability to remediate vulnerabilities effectively and efficiently.
  • Experience in upgrading and patching Tenable products to maintain system integrity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under direction.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance, specifically DoD/Secret Clearance or TS/SCI (Interim Secret acceptable).

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment.
Familiarity with network security, NIST/FISMA standards, and SIEM platforms.
Experience in enterprise security application deployment and administration.
Knowledge of the NIST Risk Management Framework (NIST SP 800-53).
Understanding of Security Assertion Markup Language and client-server authentication.
In addition to the above qualifications, the ideal candidate should possess strong task prioritization skills, excellent documentation abilities, and familiarity with government policies and regulations.

Pay Range: Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
