The Department of Kinesiology & Sport Management (KNSM) ( https://knsm.tamu.edu ) within the School of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University (effective August 15, 2024, the School of Education and Human Development will change its name to the College of Education and Human Development) is accepting applications for two (2) full-time, tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level. We are seeking candidates who are well versed in motor neuroscience capable of conducting independent basic or translational research. Candidates will be emerging scholars capable of advancing a solid research agenda to advance the Department's strong and expanding research portfolio. The candidates will become an integral part of the Division of Kinesiology's faculty, with expectations to engage in research efforts including interdisciplinary collaborations, aggressively seek funding opportunities, provide research mentorship for graduate and undergraduate students, as well as teach graduate/undergraduate courses.

Responsibilities: Candidates are expected to research, teach courses within the kinesiology program, and mentor undergraduate and graduate students . This typically involves maintaining 50% research, 40% teaching, 10% service load . Successful candidates will be responsible for meeting department, school, and university service expectations .

Appointment: Nine-month tenure-track position with a start date of August 1, 2025. Salary, benefits and compensation packages are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Competitive startup packages are available to establish a productive research environment.

Qualifications

Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in Kinesiology or related academic discipline relevant to motor neuroscience, have a strong record of research and publications, and a clear plan to secure external funding. Post-doctoral experience is highly valued. Previous scholarship addressing human motor development across the lifespan or motor learning and control utilizing neural physiological tools such as EEG, fMRI, and/or fNIRS is highly encouraged.
