GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Managing a team responsible for performing diversified tests and troubleshooting of electronic assemblies for production or in support of development programs. Perform assignments by planning schedules and leading projects while managing test personnel to ensure projects are technically sound while on schedule and within cost.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Coordinate with test technicians, assembly teams and the production management to ensure quality products and timely deliveries
  • Coordinate with engineering and production management to ensure smooth transitions from development to production
  • Develop and interpret new test requirements ensuring the proper test equipment and documentation is available to meet specification compliance and to support assembly schedules
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on manufacturing machines and equipment
  • Develop test procedures and assist engineering with developing tests for equipment under development
  • Manage respective personnel and resources to meet production schedules and to coordinate employee actions
  • Train, develop and cross train technicians and other respective employees
  • Mentor junior technicians in performing complex diagnosis and coordinate corrective actions of product lines
  • Must be at assigned worksite during assigned hours 100% of time; less PTO, FML/STD/LTD

Other Job Functions
  • Perform and manage repair, calibration, and modification of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE)
  • Manage the database for equipment requiring calibration for both internal and external customers
  • Analyze and interpret industry trends
  • Assist in the technical bid and proposal process
  • Other duties may be assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position is responsible for Test Technician(s), Assembler(s), Repair and Rework Specialist(s) and Service and Rework Administrator(s).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards

Strong and pronounced problem solving and analytical skills

Ability to work with minute parts and demonstrate finger dexterity

Proven working knowledge of advanced test equipment operations and related uses and safeguards

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

HS Diploma or equivalent; electronic technician training or an AS Degree in Electronic Technology preferred

A minimum of 5 years combined experience as an upper-level test technician with an emphasis on demonstrating leadership skills within a precision measurement equipment laboratory environment.

Proven depth and experience diagnosing and providing technical solutions for complex problems within products containing RF and digital electronics

Advanced experience with MS Office

MRP experience a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Production environment

Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time

Ability to perform repetitive motion (use of arm-hand steadiness, finger dexterity, manual dexterity for small parts assembly, frequent use)

Ability to lift up to 30 pounds

20/20 vision and color vision with or without corrective lenses
