The Test Engineer for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for the design of test equipment, support projects requiring design assistance, and support of equipment in production.

This position is part of the Global Systems Test and Innovation Engineering department located in Miami FL and will be onsite. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of the Global Systems Test team and report to the Test Engineering manager responsible for design contributions through modeling, requirements, analysis, fabrication, process and troubleshooting. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Design and develop mechanical solutions using modeling software (Solidworks, Creo, or equivalent) to support system test engineering solutions.
  • Generate specifications and drawings, facilitate supplier fabrication or purchasing of components, and build assemblies / systems.
  • Control test processes using scripting (C#, Labview)
  • Participate in cross functional projects to define and implement test engineering solutions.
  • Create and release approved drawings, test work instructions, and verification test method documentation.

The essential requirements of the job include:
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Biomed), or equivalent technical degree.
  • Strong understanding of Electromechanical systems, design, constraints, fabrication and support including troubleshooting.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve on complex systems.
  • Experience with material selection and working knowledge of optimal materials dependent on application.
  • 2 years of experience in a technical engineering field

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Experience with Modeling Software (Autocad, Solidworks, Pro/e)
  • Some Scripting / mechatronics / machine control, control of custom and standard test standards
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
