Thank you for your interest in Colfax Elementary School. We are a neighborhood school serving 420 students from ECE through 5th grade. The majority of the students are Hispanic (94%) with half of this population emigrating from Spanish-speaking countries, primarily Mexico. The other half of the Hispanic student body has lived in the neighborhood for many years. Oftentimes, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins have also attended Colfax. We are also enjoying an influx of immigrant students from other countries. In addition, we serve three homeless shelters which are located in the neighborhood. In order to meet the diverse needs of our students, staff, parents, and the community work closely and collaboratively amongst each other.
