A Snapshot of Your Day
The Total Maintenance Services (TMS) process achieves beneficial customer objectives including better unit reliability, shorter outage duration, higher service quality and safety, and overall maintenance budget planning and management. This position reports directly to the Technical Service Manager in the Hub Sales Service Technical Sales TMS Group.

By taking an outage planning leadership role through the use of the TMS process, Siemens Energy achieves beneficial objectives including a more significant share of the outage service work (new parts, field services, repair factory services, and project management), better use of resources (e.g., outage personnel, factory loading, outage planning personnel), outage planning visibility (accurate identification of events in the Outage Event Calendar), standardized outage planning documentation, and a common information system for outage planning related activities.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Manage and implement the TMS program for assigned ST units with guidance from the Technical Service Manager for assigned units.
  • Develop customer specific detailed outage scope recommendations for the Steam Turbine, Generator, and auxiliary equipment. These recommendations will include parts, component refurbishment, modifications, and upgrades.
  • Participate and lead TMS meetings as required by the Technical Service Manager or District Service Manager.
  • Resolution of customer issues based on operating experience, unit history, operating hours, and engineering analysis.
  • Review and analyze Siemens Energy technical recommendations to ensure their compatibility with the customer's technical and commercial requirements.
  • Generate, maintain and update TMS Metrics. The metrics will be based on TMS process flow and will monitor critical steps in outage planning process.
  • Support the data population of product information in product catalog databases.
  • Update unit specific configuration records as indicated by the TMS meeting preparation and action items from the TMS meetings themselves.
  • Participate in training of others on TMS procedures, including Engineers in Training and Field Service Engineers, for them to understand the outage planning processes.
  • Provide technical feedback for, and participate in, key customer negotiations.
  • During peak outage seasons it may also include supporting the District Service Offices in performing outage related work scopes (Minor, Medium, or Major inspections) as a Field Service floor engineer or Field Service Project Manager (if the individual is qualified to do so).
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field. 5+ years related work experience in the field service with an emphasis on Siemens/Westinghouse Steam Turbines.
  • Strong background in Siemens/Westinghouse Steam Turbine and auxiliaries operations, maintenance, and outage overhaul requirements.
  • Experience with and ability to utilize product lifecycle management systems to review configuration records, drawings, and BOMs.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to create and present a report detailing outage scope recommendations.
  • Location in one of the following office locations: Orlando, FL, Charlotte, NC, Deer Park, TX, Mount Pleasant, PA, Irving, TX, Westmont, IL, Denver, CO, Lexana, KS, Phoenix, AZ, or San Luis Obispo, CA. Travel is approximately 20%.
