Tool & Die Supervisor, Cybertruck, Castings

The Castings Tool & Die Supervisor will manage the Tool & Die team with a focus on high pressure die casting within the automotive sector. The role requires advanced technical skills in various Tool & Die craftsmanship skills, breakdown management, root cause investigation and problem recurrence prevention, PM system development, implementation, and spare parts management.
This person must be able to build upon previous successes and take our Tool & Die team to the next level. The candidate must be capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and department leaders to address concerns and issues that affect safety, part quality, production efficiency, and die function.


Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide Tool & Die Specialists in high-pressure die casting processes
• Manage team performance, including scheduling, task delegation, and overtime
• Define daily operational tasks and set clear directions for the team
• Collaborate with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, and Tooling Design Engineering
• Interface with customer departments and managers to address requirements and feedback
• Develop, implement, and maintain standards, procedures, and methodologies
• Lead project management for die repairs, refurbishments, and engineering changes

Requirements

• Completed Tool & Die Apprenticeship or equivalent on-the-job training
• 5+ years of supervisory experience in high-pressure die casting or related fields
• Expertise in project management and die maintenance
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Proven ability to manage and motivate teams under pressure
• Strong technical problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
