TPWD MISSION

To manage and conserve the natural and cultural resources of Texas and to provide hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation opportunities for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This position assists the State Parks Facilities Director collecting data and entering in the Facility Asset Management Software(FAMS)and will assist with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulatory permit renewals and other clerical duties within the Facilities Management Program.

Under the direction of the State Parks Facilities Director, this position performs routine (journey-level) consultative services and technical assistance work for the State Parks Facilities Management program to the State Parks division. Assists individual park sites, regions and programs entering data for Facility Asset Management Software (FAMS). Assists with water and wastewater Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) permit renewals. Supports the State Parks Accessibility and Safety programs with data collecting, data entry and providing reports. Provides program support requiring effective communication, administrative skills, and managing multiple projects and deadlines. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division, and Branch rules, regulations, and procedures.



Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree.

Experience:

Experience in regulatory permit renewals;

Experience in data collection, entry and management;

Experience in general administrative practices.

Licensure:

Applicant must possess or be able to obtain, within 30 days of employment, a valid class "C" Texas driver's license.

NOTE: Retention of position contingent upon obtaining and maintaining required license.

ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTIONS:

Education:

One year of experience in regulatory permit renewals, experience in data collection, entry and management or in general administrative practices may substitute for 30 hours of the required education, with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

Experience in environmental sciences;

Experience in Accessibility Standards;

Experience in Risk Management or administering a Safety Program;

Experience in Public Speaking;

Experience in Geographic Information System Mapping.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of regulatory permit renewals;

Knowledge of general administrative procedures;

Knowledge of basic data collection and entry techniques;

Skill in interpreting program-related federal, state, and agency regulations and policies.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Required to work from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday;

Required to work on holidays, weekends and hours other than 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. as necessary;

Required to work overtime as necessary;

Required to travel 10% with possible overnight stays;

Required to operate a State vehicle;

Must conform to TPWD dress and grooming standards, work rules and safety standards;

Non-smoking environment in State buildings and vehicles.
