Training Coordinator - Psychiatry Department - Mood Disorders Division

Departmental Job Description

The Psychiatry Department is looking to hire a Training Coordinator to assist with the Youth Aware of Mental Health (YAM) program.

The Coordinator will be expect to perform the following duties:
  • Trains as YAM Program Facilitator and YAM classroom assistant
  • Prepare YAM booklets and all supplies (put student resource stickers in each booklet) prior to the beginning of each school session
  • Travels to ISDs throughout the UTSW and UNT HRI regions (Dallas, Collin, Tarrant, Denton and other North Texas counties) to facilitate 5 YAM sessions per cohort in middle and high schools
  • Works with ISD counselors and teachers to ensure student safety and program fidelity
  • Complete YAM debriefing with Lead Facilitator and helper at the end of each day
  • Meet with assistant(s) to prepare for individualization of session 5 for each cohort
  • Participate in all internal team member Consultation calls
  • Prepare and submit program documents for internal and external reports
Experience and Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Education, Human Resources, Public Administration, or related field and one (1) year experience in field of assignment.
  • Will consider work experience in lieu of education.
Job Duties
  • Provides oversight for training program activities including planning, developing, and organizing resources for all training courses for the respective department/program.
  • Confers with leadership and other departments as needed to direct training program operation and growth.
  • Serves as a liaison with vendors as needed to procure teaching materials and coordinate other resources.
  • Conducts training sessions and organizes lectures. Prepares, procures, and manages inventory of training materials and equipment.
  • Maintains records of training activities. Evaluates effectiveness of training programs and assess for quality improvement opportunities within training program.
  • Tracks costs associated with program and assists with budget preparation.
  • Recommends policies and procedures relating to training activities.
  • May supervise assigned training or office staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Work requires knowledge of personal computers, presentation software, and desktop software packages.
  • Work requires good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work requires ability to deliver effective presentations and training seminars.
  • Work requires ability to operate multimedia equipment.
  • Work requires ability to read, write, speak, and conduct analysis.
  • Work requires ability to conduct prolonged speaking, walking, and standing.
  • Work requires carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 15 pounds.
This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code •51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
