POSITION SUMMARY

The Training Specialist provides instruction and delivers various training programs to staff at the warehouse level. This position ensures that training programs are implemented consistently across departments and shifts with the intent to enhance knowledge and skills of employees, decrease errors, increase accuracy and quality, and maintain maximum productivity. The Training Specialist works closely with various Team Leads, Quality Assurance Specialists, and Leadership across departments to identify discrepancies regarding training and operating procedures and identifies strategies to increase consistency across departments and shifts. This position is expected to follow-up with new hires during and after their introductory period to assess the effectiveness of training programs. This role also supports the roll-out of updated policies / procedures and coordinates retraining activities to address current issues with productivity, accuracy, and quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain and deliver training programs to all new hires that are relevant and effective in addressing local needs; create resources that ensure continued accuracy and quality of operations
  • Provide a clear summary of new hire training progress to department managers on a weekly basis
  • Oversee the training and development process during a new hire's introductory period to ensure that training standards and expectations are being met
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and adapt as needed
  • Communicate and collaborate with managers and employees across departments and shifts to identify training needs and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Support high performance standards through the use of coaching, training, and development strategies that drive operational best practices across departments
  • Maintain a high level of operating knowledge and positive employee relations by working at minimum one day each month with each department and/or shift
  • Serve as a resource to employees and managers regarding job tasks, Company policies and procedures
  • Cross-train in all warehouse functions to ensure that training needs are met by the department
  • Adhere to attendance policy by maintaining regular, predictable on-site attendance
  • Meet or exceed the department standards for productivity and accuracy
  • Maintain a clean work area that is safe and organized
  • Consistent communication with Leadership and Management
  • Other duties as assigned


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • Proficiency with MS Office required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical and complex concepts in a simple and concise way to ensure ease of understanding
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to quickly adapt as business needs change; ability to address difficult situations with diplomacy and emotional intelligence
  • Strong customer service-oriented attitude and demonstrated desire to exceed expectations
  • Ability to work off-shift as required to respond to urgent needs
  • Bilingual Spanish and English, proficient oral and written preferred


PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must be comfortable with heights up to 30ft
  • Must be able push and pull up to 150lbs
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 to 75lbs
  • Must be able to constantly bend, squat, reach, climb, and stand throughout shift
  • Must be able to work in a variety of temperatures in the facility
  • Must have excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • Must be proficient in using a personal computer and/or handheld device


WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Occasional activities may involve exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.

HOURS

1st Shift: Monday - Thursday 6:00AM - 4:30PM

3rd Shift: Sunday - Wednesday 7:00PM - 5:30AM or Monday - Thursday 7:00PM - 5:30 AM

4th Shift: Friday - Sunday 6:00AM - 6:30PM
