Job Summary
The Transfer Center Nurse is responsible for the coordination of the transfer of patients from, to and between Harris Health facilities, in a safe and timely manner. The Transfer Center Nurse functions independently in the prioritization and verification of transfer requests, keeping patient safety and high quality care vital to all transfers. This position is also responsible for the maintenance of department records and data associated with transfer requests.
Minimum Qualifications
Degrees:
Associate Degree or diploma required, BSN preferred.
License & Certification:
Current valid Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas.
Basic Life Support from an American Heart Association or Red Cross approved program.
Work experience:
Five (5) years experience as a Registered Nurse. 1-2 years experience with Case Management, Quality Management, Coding or Discharge Planning preferred.
Management Experience
Management Experience:
Two (2) years management/supervisory experience preferred.
Communication Skills:
Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact)
Writing /Composing (Reports)
Proficiencies: MS Word, P.C.
