Position Purpose

The Transfer Student Services Coordinator in the Registrar's Office is responsible for the delivery of initiatives and strategies that facilitate and support transfer student success, curricular and co-curricular. Including holistic, equitable, and proactive initiatives/strategies that focus on helping transfer students learn, understand, and navigate university processes, policies, and protocols. This position analyzes data, identifies barriers, and recommends initiatives to improve student success and degree completion. This position will serve as an academic resource for all transfer students. The Transfer Student Services Coordinator will thoroughly understand the registration process, grading system, degree audits, and academic policies and procedures.

This position will introduce transfer students to the resources available at UCM that will enable them to be successful and persist to degree completion. Assist transfer students with identifying obstacles, or potential obstacles to enrollment, such as registration, prerequisite issues, course availability, etc., and help students to identify options to overcome and/or resolve the issue. Instruct and assist students with learning and using the technological platforms used in student success at UCM such as MyCentral, Learning Management System, Degree Audit System, UCM website, student email, etc. Assist in the handoff of students from time of admission until courses begin and Success Advising support. Will work in collaboration with undergraduate admissions and advising center to support transfer students coming to UCM .

Experience
  • Two (2) years experience in higher education, academic advising, counseling, customer oriented, academic support services, student support, etc
  • Experience with Ellucian Banner and DegreeWorks, preferred
