HDR is looking for a Transit Civil Engineer to join our Southern California Transportation group to support the design and/or planning of public transportation projects. The ideal candidate will have experience working on rail transit project in Southern California. The successful candidate shall demonstrate knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local standards and requirements and has an understanding of project delivery processes for various phases of project development from conceptual design to design support during construction.

In the role of Transit Civil Engineer, we'll count on you to:

• Serve in a technical role, under the direction of a Project Manager
• Oversee the work of EITs and Junior Project Engineers
• Prepare detailed engineering designs for rail projects
• Take responsibility for project involvement, ranging from site feasibility analysis to final design and through the construction phase
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualification

• A minimum of 3 years experience in transportation design - railroad project
• Knowledge of "legacy" InRail/InRoadsplatform
• 2+ years experience in rail/transportation design
• Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Knowledge of "Legacy" InRail/InRoads platform
• Local candidates preferred

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Hands-on experience with Microstation, OpenRail Designer, AutoCAD and Civil3D
• Must be able to work both independently and in a team setting
• MS Office software experience
• Excellent oral and written communication and project management skills
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
