Transit Management Analyst Series:

Assistant Transit Management Analyst I - $65,954 - $78,079

Assistant Transit Management Analyst II - $76,577 - $85,288

Associate Transit Management Analyst - $86,565 - $112,083

Project Manager (TA): $65,640 - $85,646 (New Hire Rate: $57,078)

Responsibilities :

The selected candidate will need strong project management and time-management skills, as they will spearhead a range of special projects and initiatives with PMO Governance. The selected candidate will support the Executive Vice President & COO in the review and management of all critical division-level documentation, including but not limited to operating policies and procedures, internal controls, and emergency plans. The incumbent will coordinate, direct, drive & monitor all operating projects, and related matters. They will oversee all reliability and maintenance trends and establish procedures for optimal ridership satisfaction. The selected candidate will gather and evaluate pertinent data, process reports, prepare summaries using queries, charts and graphs.

Education and Experience :

Assistant Transit Management Analyst 1 & Assistant Transit Management Analyst II:

  1. A master's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and at least one year of full-time satisfactory professional experience in the collection, evaluation and use of data relating to operational procedures, administrative systems, equipment and space utilization, and staffing requirements, including the preparation of charts, graphs, drawings and technical reports; or
  2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in one of the areas listed in "1" above; and two years of full-time satisfactory experience as described in "1" above.


Associate Transit Management Analyst:

  1. A master's degree from an accredited college in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and two years of full-time satisfactory professional experience in the collection, evaluation and use of data relating to operational procedures, administrative systems, equipment and space utilization, and staffing requirements, including the preparation of charts, graphs, drawings and technical reports. One year of experience must have been in the transportation industry; or
  2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in one of the areas listed in "1" above; and three years of full-time satisfactory experience as described in "1" above. One year of this experience must have been in the transportation industry.


Project Manager:

  1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration, or public administration and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in project management work, such as planning, administering, managing, coordinating or expediting, for engineering and/or architectural and/or landscape architectural projects; or
  2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of experience as described in "1" above; or
  3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization plus any combination of the experience and/or college education as described in "1" above to make up the equivalent of five years of education and experience. One year of credit will be given for each 30 semester credits of college education leading to a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration, or public administration.


Special Note for Project Manager title: Experience which is primarily of a design nature is not acceptable towards meeting the minimum requirements.

L icense Requirement :

For assignment to certain positions, candidates must possess a motor vehicle driver

license valid in the State of New York. The license must be maintained for the duration

of employment in such position.

Selection Method :

Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.

All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
