Job Summary
Join UT Southwestern as a Transplant Services Records Specialist The Records Specialist works under general supervision to provide highly effective records management skills in processing and storing all donor-related information.. Medical records experience is preferred.
The Records Specialist will be in the office during training and then eligible for a hybrid work schedule thereafter. Work schedule is Monday thru Friday, 7am to 4pm or 8am to 5pm.
Required Experience and Education
High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years related experience.
Job Duties
Reviews, audits, and maintains donor related records for the department.
Processes, scans, and coordinates transfer of donor-related data to tissue processors and/or affiliated agencies.
Makes corrections or oversees completion of corrections of donor-related records as necessary for the department, processors, and other affiliated agencies.
Performs and/or assists with data entry and quality control of donor records, recipient information, microbiology results, and other records as required.
Assists with the monitoring, trending, and reporting of QC processes (environmental monitoring, sterilization, supplies expiration, event reporting, etc.).
Assists with audits of technical functions.
Assists with preparation for inspections by regulatory bodies, including but not limited to FDA, AATB, EBAA, state health departments.
Assists with data gathering and facilities data review; prepares data records.
Performs other duties as assigned.
