Transportation Analyst - Final Mile Delivery Program

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Transportation Analyst to join our Corporate Transportation team, focusing on the Final Mile Delivery Program. This role involves day-to-day management and oversight of our Southeast regional final mile carrier, which specializes in in-unit deliveries with light installation services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation logistics, with the ability to analyze performance and pricing trends to ensure the program operates efficiently and cost-effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Day-to-Day Operations Management:
o Oversee the daily operations of the final mile delivery program, ensuring that deliveries are completed on time and meet quality standards.
o Coordinate with the acquired regional carrier to ensure alignment with corporate standards and expectations.
o Manage and resolve any operational issues, including delays, customer complaints, and equipment failures.
o Develop and implement process improvements to enhance delivery efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Performance Analysis:
o Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to delivery times, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
o Conduct regular data analysis to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement within the delivery program.
o Prepare and present detailed reports on performance metrics to senior management.
o Collaborate with the carrier and internal teams to develop and execute action plans based on performance analysis.
Pricing and Cost Management:
o Analyze pricing trends and cost structures to ensure competitive and profitable operations.
o Work closely with the finance and procurement teams to develop pricing strategies that balance cost efficiency with service quality.
o Conduct regular reviews of vendor contracts and agreements to ensure compliance and cost-effectiveness.
o Provide recommendations for cost-saving initiatives and budget management.
Program Oversight:
o Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the in-unit delivery program, including the scope of services, customer requirements, and market conditions.
o Ensure that the acquired carrier adheres to all regulatory requirements, company policies, and safety standards.
o Support the integration of the acquired carrier into the broader corporate transportation strategy.
o Act as a liaison between the corporate transportation team and the regional carrier, facilitating communication and collaboration.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management, with a focus on final mile delivery.
Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis, performance metrics, and cost management.
Proven ability to manage day-to-day operations in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Familiarity with in-unit delivery services and light installation processes is a plus.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience working with or managing relationships with regional carriers.
Knowledge of the Southeast U.S. market and regional logistics challenges.
Certification in transportation or logistics (e.g., CTL, CLTD) is an advantage.
