Job Title: Transportation/Operations Assistant

Description: Provide assistance to the Operations Manager in all areas of responsibility including transportation, residency fraud investigation,

homeless coordination and registration.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in supervisory responsibilities and working with other people, preferred. Strong self-management skills are required.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger and school bus endorsements, preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills including conflict resolution ability, listening ability and discretion.
• Experience with computerized routing applications, public school transportation bidding laws, bus safety procedures, and Burlington Township streets, preferred.
• Experience as a bus driver or bus aide, preferred.
• Strong computer skills.
• Ability to use sound judgment and discretion.
• Ability to deal with people in a friendly, courteous and helpful manner.

ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION (Transportation Salaried Non-aligned positions - if the employee holds a valid CDL):

The need for the position to drive a bus will arise. During the hours of 6:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. these hours are covered by the salary granted by the Board annually. Between the last day of the prior school year and the first day of the subsequent school year, these hours will be adjusted to 7:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. The hours stated here are expressly for the purpose of additional compensation and do not set the working hours which will be determined by the Operations Manager. When driving outside these hours, compensation will be as follows:

• The rate will be set annually by the Board of Education, initially, the rate of the lowest paid permanent driver will be paid in addition to salary for performing the duties of driving vehicles on behalf of the District which utilize the CDL license.
• The appropriate time attendance will be submitted as designated by the payroll department.
• Hours required to ensure the performance of the duties outlined in this job description outside of driving will not be subject to additional compensation.
