Overview

The Plant Manager in Training is responsible for learning and assisting with all aspects of component manufacturing and management of associates employed within the plant.

The Plant Manager in Training will be required to fully acquire the following experience within the term of 6 months to 1 year:
  • Completing the weekly inventory
  • Calculating the weekly BCS Spreadsheet
  • Updating the 84 time card system on a daily basis
  • Administering safety and quality training to all new hires on the 1st day of work and to all associates annually
  • Completing weekly inventories for lumber and hardware
  • Supporting inventory control
  • Ensuring that equipment is maintained for reliability and calibration
  • Participating in daily walk-through inspections
  • Helping create and implement a layout for the plant to optimize inventory flow for the current product mix

This role involves reporting all hourly associate sick time, vacations, attendance, and evaluations to the corporate office, and actively participating in the evaluations of hourly associates. The Plant Manager in Training is responsible for learning to assess employees' productivity and efficiency, adjusting employee complaints and grievances, disciplining employees, planning the work in the plant, determining the techniques to be used, apportioning the work among the employees, determining the type of materials, supplies, machinery, equipment, or tools to be used, providing for the safety and security of the employees and the plant, and planning and controlling the budget. This position involves training to gain the authority to hire and/or terminate associates.

Responsibilities

Inventory control

Responsible for Profit and Loss of Plant

Understand how to perform every position in the plant efficiently and correctly

Correct all quality issues and develop solutions to prevent them

Audit outgoing loads for completeness.

Prepare daily production plan

Qualifications

Able to speak, read and write Spanish, or be willing to learn (where applicable)

84 Components Fork Truck License

Basic math skills

Willing to relocate

Good leadership skills

Good interpersonal skills

Excellent problem solving skills

Must be able to work under pressure
