About the Role

This role is part of the SIRP (Safety, Identity, Risk, Payments) Analytics and Insights team, which sits within a broader Global Planning, Strategy & Analytics team in Community Operations (CommOps). CommOps is responsible for developing a world-class customer support organization that scales effectively, is reliable and consistent, and provides unmatched service to our global Uber community.

Within SIRP A&I, the Trust & Safety Data Analyst will serve as a strategic analyst across the various nuanced business domains that SIRP covers. The work done by this role will enable cross functional program and operational teams to manage business critical metrics, identify improvement opportunities across operational / audit processes, as well as partner with relevant program/operations teams to drive business goals.

You will help drive impact by being a subject matter expert on areas such as Customer Actioning, support cost monitoring, and genAI applications within Trust & Safety support processes, in order to assist stakeholder teams in making data-driven decisions.

What You'll Do

- Build and maintain source of truth KPI definitions, queries, and self-service data tools to be leveraged by stakeholders for monitoring business performance and guiding decisions
- Recommend and implement strategies to optimize queries, dashboards or analytic processes
- Independently work with stakeholders to decide and align on ongoing analytic priorities
- Work with CommOps program / operations, Core Services Data Science and Product teams to improve our tools, processes, and metrics for evaluating the accuracy of actioning decisions
- Measure the impact, efficiency and return on investment of new support initiatives or changes in existing processes
- Recommend data infrastructure improvements that will drive efficiency and impact of analytics and insights for customer actioning and accuracy audit programs
- Train and mentor junior team members on analytic best practices (may formally manage junior analysts down the line)

Note: the applicant will need to be ok working at least 4 hours per day in US&C / LatAm hours to engage effectively with manager, stakeholders and teammates. (Note: the manager of this role is based in NYC; primary stakeholders are based in Mexico, US - West Coast and Chicago)

Basic Qualifications

- 4+ years experience in analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, or a similar role
- BA/BS/Masters in Economics, Business, Engineering, Operations Research, or other quantitative focus (or equivalent work experience)
- 3+ years of SQL experience (Hive, Spark, and other big data tools a plus)
- Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker Studio, Excel / Google Sheets, or similar tools)
- Experience in extracting insights from data and summarizing learnings / takeaways
- Experience leading and influencing high visibility projects in a cross-functional team environment and explaining complex technical details to non-technical business audience
- Excellent written and spoken English

Preferred Qualifications

- 1+ years experience managing analytics projects/workstreams
- Understanding of experimental design (such as A/B experiments) and statistical methods
- Subject matter knowledge on trust & safety, account security & risk, and/or regulatory & compliance domains at large companies
- Experience working with customer support or operations management

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$133,000 per year - USD$148,000 per year.
