Why does the job exist?
This position exists to ensure the efficient operation and availability of the State of New Mexico's fleet vehicles through both long-term and short-term leasing programs, by providing specialized support and customer service within a highly automated system. This role is critical for maintaining a streamlined process that allows state agencies to access and manage vehicles efficiently, ensuring essential transportation needs are met across various departments.
How does it get done?
This position ensures the smooth functioning of the Transportation Services Division (TSD) by managing and coordinating vehicle leasing services for state agencies. The TSD Account Manager Supervisor oversees both long-term and short-term vehicle leases based on the needs of individual agencies. As Lead Worker, the supervisor directs three full-time employees who manage operations at the Short-Term Leasing Facilities in Albuquerque. Additional key responsibilities include managing relationships with agencies, overseeing vehicle repairs and accident responses, reviewing vehicle utilization reports, and providing critical updates to upper management. This position plays a central role in maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency in fleet management.

Minimum Qualification
Associates Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or Accounting and two (2) years of directly related job experience in the areas of budgeting, accounting, auditing, purchasing, cash management and/or financial management. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

Employment Requirements
This is a safety sensitive position; therefore, pre-employment drug testing will be conducted and is subject to random drug testing, as a condition of continued employment. Selected candidate must have and maintain a current and valid Drivers' License, free of all restrictions. Selected candidate must enroll and take the Defensive Driving Course, within five days of hire.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting and frequent lifting of 30 to 50 lbs. Fast paced office setting to include walking, standing, inspecting and moving state vehicles. State-wide travel may be required to conduct vehicle inspections.
