Job Summary/Basic Function
Fulfilling job helping students to improve their writing skills and providing support for student writing needs across the curriculum.
Concurrent training provided and required for this position
Position provides opportunities for conference participation, committee work, editing, group leadership, and publication experience.
**This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time, the pool will expire, and applicants will be notified.
Required Qualifications
Must be a WSU student in good academic standing.
We hire successful students from all majors.
Demonstrated writing proficiency through coursework and by submitting an academic writing sample at the time of interview.
Interpersonal communication skills important.
Interest in learning to explain key writing concepts: organization, development, structure.
Preferred Qualifications
Prefer student who are interested in contributing to the success of others. Who seek leadership opportunities, and who wish to use their varied skills and talents to support program goals.
Willingness and preference for contributing beyond the basic tutoring requirements. We seek students who wish to exercise new and emerging interpersonal, technical, leadership, and teaching skills in a safe and supportive learning environment.

2) Visit Claire Hughes, by coming to my office door on the faculty hallway, EH 210. To make sure we meet, it's best to email for an appointment - clairehughes@weber.edu. I look forward to meeting you. If needed, we can set up a zoom interview.
3) Upon hire, I'll let you know what to bring when you take the next step of going to the Payroll Office and HR to complete the appropriate documents prior to beginning training and work.
The screening of applicants will begin immediately.
Criminal Background check is required as a condition of employment.
