Mercy Imaging Centers a service of Dignity Health Medical Foundation provides cutting-edge diagnostic imaging services at 16 locations in the greater Sacramento and Woodland areas. Our team of 160 staff members work with our specialty trained and board certified radiologists to provide high quality care to our patients. The locations perform more than 175000 exams annually with the goal of providing top quality imaging compassionate care and timely service with a smile.
Responsibilities
The Ultrasound Technician I position is responsible for knowing his/her professional scope of practice as defined by the California Business and Professional Code and for satisfactorily completing the Dignity Health Medical Foundation orientation period that includes demonstrating skills and behaviors that meet a fully competent level of performance. Ultrasound Technician I maintain a clean organized and safe environment and performs patient care services that support the physician / providers practice under the supervision of the radiologists physician other licensed staff and Management. This includes assisting in prepping patients for examinations x-rays and procedures relaying instructions from the radiologist or physician to a patient or authorized person and collecting patient data documenting patient concerns patient messages and care provided to the patient in the patients medical record for the radiologist and physicians review and performing diagnostic medical sonograms. May be required to occasionally work at other locations within the Greater Sacramento Area as needed.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Satisfactory completion of a formal AMA school of Ultra Sound Technology or equivalent to an AMA Technologic program
- Determination made by Dignity Health Medical Foundation H.R. department in conjunction with the American Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
- Completion of advanced training in Ultra Sound Imaging.
- ARMDS
- Excellent interpersonal organizational and customer service skills are essential
- Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy and physiology for imaging proper operation of and care of ultrasound equipment and radiation safety is required
- Maintain current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Maintain current required CEU
Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) year experience as an Ultra Sound Technician is preferred
- Six (6) months experience in Abdomen OB Vascular small parts environment is preferred
- Medical terminology and familiarity with an electronic practice management system and PACS is preferred
