Job Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION
Perform sonographic exams as per departmental protocols.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs all ULTRASOUND examinations according to ARDMS.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Attends and complies with all scheduled departmental meeting, staff in service and trainings.
2. Provides all services in a professional manner while maintaining a good inter personnel relationships with staff and patients.
3. Assists and directs patients in preparation of examination (change into gowns and getting patient on / off examination tables).
4. Identifies patient's identity and exam order for appropriate procedure.
5. Performs all examinations according to ARDMS.
6. Ensures patient safety at all times and reports any possible risks to appropriate staff.
7. Performs visual equipment inspections to ensure optimum exam quality and safety.
8. Maintains examination rooms stocked and clean.
9. Performs infection control protocols according to departmental and institutional standards.
10. Documents and completes patient exam demographics in a correct and timely fashion.
11. Provides verbal instruction to patients regarding procedures.
12. Maintains all patients' information (confidentially) according to HIPPA compliance standards.
13. Reports all examination discrepancies to Radiologist, Dept head and providers as needed.
14. Utilizes departmental communication (telephone/paging systems/ computers) according to HHC regulations and d departmental policy.
15. Correct any error with archival of examinations in a timely fashion.
16. Informs Department in the event of a lateness or absence before scheduled tour begins.
17. Maintains Customer service expectation according to Network standard
18. Maintain Sonographic equipment by scheduling PM's and calling for service when needed 19. Ensures proper documentation of exams and patient identification in PACS
20. Employs the appropriate marking of anatomical images
21. Maintains infection control logs as per DOH and ARDMS
Minimum Qualifications
1. Completion of a Sonography or Ultrasound training program from an accredited school.
