Position Purpose

This position is responsible for establishing and implementing annual and long-term marketing and development strategies for the Elliott Student Union ( ESU ) that are consistent with the ESU's role and mission. This position will oversee, plan organize, train, and manage a team that communicates internally and externally through public relations, media relations, digital media, and print. The manager will be responsible for telling the ESU's story, while ensuring consistent messaging in the creation of marketing materials for its programs and services across a variety of platforms.

Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, public relations, marketing or related field.

Education may be substituted for experience or experience substituted for education based on the following equivalencies: AA = 2 years; BA/BS = 4 years; MA/MA = 6 years; PhD = 8 years.

Computer Skills

Word-Processing, Spreadsheet, Presentation, Web Page Maintenance

Experience

Three (3) years of experience in customer service and or working with diverse groups required.

One (1) year of marketing/promotions experience required.

Three (3) years of experience with word processing software, internet, social media and scheduling software preferred.

Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population.
